Backcountry Yrip

Backcountry Overview
Flying in to the backcountry of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is, for many, a trip of a lifetime. From McCarthy, this 13.2 million acre wilderness is accessible by bush plane and offers a variety of outdoor experiences unique to Alaska.

Exciting fly in glacier trekking, alpine hiking, and river rafting are all available in guided or self guided; day, or multi-day trips.

Backpacking
A wide range of options are available for backpacking trips, from short and easy to long and challenging.

Base Camping
If carrying a heavy pack is not your thing, consider base camping. There are many great locations that we can fly you into that are ideal for setting up a main camp and doing day hikes.

River Trips
Rather float than hike? The mighty rivers of Wrangell-St. Elias offer plenty of rafting action.
