ALL THAT DOES NOT GLITTER IS ALSO GOLD !!
In the mundane routine of our everyday life and the breakneck speed with which we move ahead to meet our schedules and dead lines , we miss so many small , seemingly insignificant , trivial looking happenings and incidents which in fact tell a lot , if seen in a different frame of mind !
The triviality when penetrated through probing eyes and inquisitive mind turns out to be a gold mine of lessons to be learnt . Though they dont have the glitter , but they are gold too !!
Sun -rise in the morning is the most common phenomenon , most of us dont even notice , and the living style we have adopted , that of living in flats surrounded by the concrete jungle , we dont even get to see it ! The sun rises , with its splendour and beauty unnoticed ! But on Sundays or on some other days when we accidentally happen to get up early enough to have a look at it , at least I feel the worth of the accident !
From one building to the other , it hops and jumps , playing hide and seek , scattering the pink aura which signals a tranquil , calm and quiet ambience . And as the brightness of the light tears through the pink aura , the din and bustle of the neighbourhood signals the waking up of the populace and the beginning of another day ! The life starts !.
What a way to start a day ?? But we rarely get to view all this in such a leisure and never have the time and patience to interpret it so poetically ! To find the gold behind the pink !

In a developing locality as ours , it is a very common feature , that of a construction site of a building . Around the unfinished construction a number of temporary hutments also come up , the living quarters of the poor . hapless construction workers . It may be the most wretched and unthinkable place for us to live , but for them it is their world , their hope , their shelter , their home !
I go for evening walk practically every day . The route which I take for my walk , has quite a few under construction buildings by the road side , and dotted by the hutments all around the under-construction buildings Everyday I pass these dwellings of the labourers , without paying much attention , with a brisque walking pace !
But that evening , may be my mood was a bit relaxed , or may be because the likes of Sharma ji didnt have much interaction with me for the whole day , while I passed through that part of the stretch where the hutments stood , I looked around . Slowed down my brisque pace , and what I saw outside one of the hutments caught my eyes and interest !
Outside the hut , was the whole family of a labourer , everyone of their small household was outside , different members with different activities . The outside was just like a courtyard of any village house .
The wife was busy cooking , cooking ware was resting on the makeshift "chulha " made of bricks , the burning wood generated more smoke than fire , she was blowing the small pieces of wood , to generate some fire so that her man gets his well deserved food after the day's hard work . No irritation on her face . She was blowing and smiling too at her man .
He was playing with his child , tossing the child above and then holding him . The child was just ecstatic , was laughing as if nothing in this world mattered . In between the tossing and holding the child , he would say something to his woman and she would lift her head from the chulha . stop blowing and smile at him !
What a blissful sight !! The whole family was so close knit together . They didnt care a bit what happened around them . They were busy in their own small pleasures and were so eager to make each other happy . For them that moment of togetherness was the all important moment of life . Nothing else mattered . They were not bothered about to morrow , not bothered about the recession , no worries ! To day and the moment they lived was everything for them !!
I just stopped for a moment there , gave a look towards the happy family and thought "With all my material belongings , comforts , modern gadgets and what not , can I be ever so happy ?? "
And walked passed with a brisk pace !!!!!
